School Age Learning Academy

Grades K through 6

Serving Hanover and South Western School Districts

Students are transported in YWCA vans to school in the morning and from school in the afternoon to YWCA Hanover. Activities available include dramatic play, writing and reading, art and design center, interactive games, and physical activities in the gym.

YWCA Hanover’s Days Off program is available when schools are closed in the Hanover and South Western school districts This program is available for children in grades K – 6; it’s free for current SALA students and $42/day for other registrants.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided on these days. The program runs 6 am to 6 pm or until we close in case of inclement weather.

Students from all school districts and parochial schools may enroll, even if they are not registered in YWCA Hanover’s SALA program. Pre-registration is required for these students.

Offers care M-F from 6 am-6 pm during summer break. Children enjoy weekly swimming and field trips, sports and games, arts and craft projects, science & environmental studies, music and performing arts, and family activities. Our full-time cook prepares a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack daily.

General Information

YWCA Hanover’s School Age Learning Academy ( SALA) child care includes:

  • Our full-time cook prepares nutritious meals and snacks: breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
  • A large gymnasium is used for recreation and group activities.
  • Dedicated, age-specific rooms.
  • Financial assistance is provided by one of the following for those who qualify:
    • CCW/State Assistance
    • YWCA Financial Assistance
