Passion seems to be the word most people use when expressing their desire to get involved with YWCA Hanover. They have a passion for our mission, for what we do, for who we serve, and for what we strive to be for our community.
We have a place for people with passion. In fact, we have many places for them.
Advocate: Join the YWCA Advocacy Committee and become part of a movement to educate, inspire, instigate, motivate, and collaborate with others who are seeking peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
Volunteer : If you have a desire to mentor young girls, become a volunteer mentor for the Girls Loving Life program. If you want to get deeper into service to victims of domestic violence, become a trained victim advocate to assist clients who call the hotline or attend community events that educate and raise awareness about domestic violence. Or perhaps you just love being around little children…come read a book to them. For those who have a desire to fortify the foundation of the YWCA, become a committee or board member and help to shape the policies that guide all that we do. You can also help at events like Walk a Mile in Her Shoes or assist with custodial/maintenance tasks should you wish to earn volunteer hours for community service.
Donate: As a nonprofit organization, YWCA Hanover gratefully accepts donations to provide programs and services such as domestic violence prevention education and Girls Loving Life. Donations are needed to help maintain the property and keep it in a safe condition. We also use donations for assisting families who need help paying for child development program tuition.
