The YWCA Hanover is looking for Part Time school-age staff for our licensed school-age program. We serve school-age children on site from kindergarten to sixth grade within two local school districts. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 9:00 am and/or 2:00 pm-6:00 pm.

This position is working with school-age students in grades kindergarten thru sixth grade. Additional hours are available as needed when schools are closed or during the summer months. We offer FREE childcare for employees!

The candidate must be able to plan, implement and organize developmentally appropriate activities for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. Assist with school work as needed, observe and assess each student’s growth and development. Maintain a positive, healthy, and safe learning environment. Promote positive and professional relationships with children and families. Positively communicate with parents and families and follow DHS regulations and maintain STAR 4 standards.

Willingness to learn van routes and drive the school-age van is a plus!

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4 clearances (PA Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI, and NSOR)
  • 2 recommendation letters
  • Physical with TB test
  • 2500 hours documented experience working with children

The YWCA Hanover is currently looking for van drivers to drive our school-age kids. Vans are 10-passenger vans and are owned by the Hanover YWCA. During the school year, van drivers transport kids from kindergarten through sixth grade to and from school within the Hanover and Southwestern School District.

The hours during the school year would be approximately 7:00 am-8:45 am and again after school from approximately 2:00 pm-3:45 pm. Additional hours are available throughout the summer to help drive the summer camp kids to and from field trips.

The YWCA of Hanover is looking for a fun, energetic floater to assist in our childcare center. This would consist of working with children ages one to twelve, Monday-Friday.

The candidate must be able to plan, implement, and organize developmentally appropriate activities for children ages three to five. Safe Home Positions

YWCA Hanover is seeking an Assistant Director of Safe Home Domestic Violence Program.

The Assistant Director works in conjunction with the Safe Home Program Director to manage, develop, market, and implement services and programs for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, as well as provide education awareness programs/events for the community. Candidate must have a 4-year degree in the human service field with at least 5 years’ experience working in the human service field. Benefit package and compensation very competitive.

Job description

YWCA Safe Home is a program that serves victims of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking and aims to empower program participants to achieve their self-defined goals. The Housing Counselor/Advocate works directly with clients who are in a state of housing instability because of their victimization. Duties include but are not limited to, safety planning, an improved sense of self-worth, self-sufficiency, and permanent housing in a safe, stable environment. The Housing Counselor/Advocate is required to meet regularly (no less than monthly) with the program participants to monitor, advocate, and intervene on the formalized service plan. The Housing Counselor/Advocate works collaboratively with Safe Home staff and must be able to contribute and work well in a group setting. The Housing Counselor/Advocate is a mandated reporter of suspected child abuse as defined by PA Child Protective Services Law.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

YWCA HANOVER EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

The following information regarding insured benefits are subject to the terms, conditions, restrictions and other eligibility requirements set forth in the formal agreements provided to each eligible employee. Should the descriptions in this overview differ with any formal agreement, document or plan summary, the plan agreement shall be considered correct. Benefit options offered by the YWCA Hanover are designed to address the diverse personal, financial and family needs of the YWCA Hanover’s staff.
Employees are eligible for each of the following benefits on the 1st day of the month following 60 days of employment.

GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE

  • Employees working thirty (30) hours or more are eligible to participate in the group health (medical) plan.
  • YWCA Hanover will pay 80% of the total premium and the employee is responsible to pay 20%.
  • The employee is responsible for 100% of the cost for dependent coverage, if elected.

DENTAL/VISION INSURANCE

  • Employees working thirty (30) hours or more are eligible to participate in the group health (dental/vision) plan.
  • Available to employees, at cost.

LIFE, SHORT-TERM DISABILITY, LONGTERM DISABILITY INSURANCE

  • Employees working thirty-five (35) hours or more are eligible for life and disability benefits:
  • YWCA Hanover pays 100% of the total premium for this coverage.

RETIREMENT PLAN

  • All employees of the YWCA Hanover may be eligible to participate in the YWCA Retirement Fund.
  • An employee is fully vested following 2 years (24 months of consecutive employment) and having worked 2,000 hours.

PROGRAM DISCOUNTS

  • YWCA Hanover offers enrollment in the YWCA childcare programs at a discounted rate. Discounted rate is evaluated each fiscal year and subject to change.
